DJ/Producer Lee Douglas has been at the forefront of New Yorks underground scene for the past decade and refusing to be pinned down or give in to trends, produced instant classics from modern disco, via epic, soundtrack-inspired  psychedelic excursions to new wave/industrial influenced techno, which in various forms have found their way into the bags of notable disc jockeys: Mancuso, Harvey, Prins Thomas, Optimo…and most likely yours too….via his own releases on Rong/Dfa to the collaborative projects as ‘TBD’ with Justin Vandervolgen (Golf Channel), ‘Bad News’ with L.I.E.S. head honcho Ron Morelli and The Stallions with ESP Institute’s Andrew Lovefingers, or his remixes for the likes of Juan Maclean, Shit Robot and Lauer.

Doug now residing in Berlin, is currently touring Japan and China and will this weekend make his first trip to Hong Kong, where he will be showcasing his most recent take on techno music, you could almost say, with a disco and punk sensibility (yes, it makes total sense to us). Judging by his latest release on Veronica Vasica’s (Minimal Wave) imprint Cititrax under the AN-i moniker, the raw energy of acid and punk is ever present, and reports from Tokyo last weekend can only confirm that we are in for a real treat! The Kino-i EP has already been described by the music press as ‘a monster of a techno track…you may as well all go home now, Doug has won Techno.’

Or a way much better option…come down to Bassment instead where yours truly Otaku Sound System will get the party started together with ace local crew Makin’ Bacon and their residents !!
A house and techno special.
